Job Description

Position Summary Max's Social House is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial hospitality leader to develop, launch, and operate a new upscale coffeehouse and cocktail concept within our growing hospitality group. This individual will be responsible for creating and managing a premium café/bar experience centered around high-quality coffee, handcrafted beverages, and exceptional guest hospitality. The ideal candidate possesses both operational expertise and creative vision, with the ability to build systems, develop menus, lead staff, and establish a destination-worthy concept from the ground up. This is not a traditional management role—we are seeking a builder, innovator, and operator who can help shape the identity and long-term success of this concept. Primary Responsibilities Concept Development & Strategy Assist ownership in developing the vision, identity, and operational strategy for the Roastery concept. Help design guest experience standards, service flow, and operational systems. Develop branding, ambiance, and hospitality touchpoints to create a differentiated market experience. Partner with ownership on launch strategy and ongoing concept refinement. Coffee & Beverage Program Source and coordinate with premium roasting partners for coffee procurement. Curate and maintain a best-in-class coffee and espresso program.
Develop signature beverage menus including:
  • Coffee and espresso offerings
  • Specialty/seasonal beverages
  • Coffee-based cocktails Establish beverage recipes, costing, and prep systems.
Monitor menu profitability, presentation, and quality consistency. Operations Management Build and manage all front-of-house operational procedures. Develop SOPs for daily opening, closing, prep, and guest service. Implement inventory controls and cost-management systems. Ensure cleanliness, compliance, and adherence to food safety standards. Leadership & Staffing Recruit, hire, train, and manage all Roastery team members. Develop staff training manuals and hospitality standards. Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and hospitality excellence. Lead ongoing education in coffee knowledge and guest service standards. Financial Performance Manage labor scheduling and staffing efficiency. Monitor P&L performance, margins, and operational KPIs. Drive revenue growth through programming, promotions, and community engagement. Maintain cost controls on beverage, food, and labor. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in a coffeehouse, restaurant, bar, or hospitality management. Strong knowledge of specialty coffee operations and beverage program development. Experience with cocktail/bar programming preferred. Proven leadership and team development experience. Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to think strategically and execute tactically. Strong financial and operational acumen. Preferred Candidate Profile We are looking for someone who: Thinks like an owner, not just an employee.
