This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage. Position Summary Information Job Description Summary The Law Career Services Program Manager is a strategic leader within the Career Services Office (CSO), reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Career Services. The Manager is responsible for developing, executing, and continuously refining the Law School's employer engagement and recruiting strategy to advance institutional employment outcomes. This role exercises independent judgment in setting priorities, allocating resources, and cultivating external partnerships. The Manager serves as a primary representative of the Law School to employers and industry stakeholders, leveraging data-driven analysis and knowledge of legal hiring trends to strengthen recruiting pipelines and enhance student and alumni career success. Responsibilities Recruiting Program Strategy & Execution Provide strategic leadership and full operational oversight of the Law School's twice-annual Recruiting Programs, ensuring alignment with institutional employment objectives. Develop annual recruiting timelines, policies, and operational procedures to ensure program efficiency and compliance. Oversee program budget, expense tracking, and resource allocation. Supervise application collection, review processes, interview scheduling systems, and event logistics. Serve as primary institutional liaison to participating employers and external recruiting partners. Analyze participation data, hiring trends, and employment outcomes; generate reports for leadership to guide strategic planning. Assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements aligned with employment goals and market conditions. Co-present Recruiting Program policies and strategy at student-facing information sessions. Lead cross-functional collaboration among CSO staff, faculty, and administrative partners to align employer engagement strategy with institutional priorities and employment outcomes. Employer Engagement & Strategic Outreach Develop and implement a comprehensive employer outreach strategy designed to expand recruiting pipelines targeting law firms, corporations, government agencies, public interest organizations, and the judiciary. Represent the Law School at industry events, bar associations, and employer meetings to strengthen market visibility. Build and maintain long-term employer relationships to expand recruiting pipelines and increase student placement opportunities. Identify emerging hiring trends and align outreach strategy with student interests and institutional employment goals. Oversee employer communications, job postings, and engagement campaigns through the law school's CSM and other platforms. Maintain and analyze employer engagement data to inform outreach priorities and performance metrics. Career Programming Leadership Lead the strategic design, implementation, and continuous improvement of employer-facing and student-facing career programming to advance institutional employment outcomes. Develop and execute programming strategy aligned with employment trends, market demands, and student career objectives. Establish program goals and success metrics; analyze participation and outcome data to guide strategic enhancements. Identify emerging employer needs and create responsive programming to strengthen recruiting pipelines. Provide oversight of employer marketing initiatives and targeted outreach campaigns. Student and Alumni Engagement Provide targeted advising related to Recruiting Program participation and employer engagement strategy. Review and approve job postings to ensure quality and alignment with institutional standards. Oversee strategic communications, including weekly student e-newsletters and alumni outreach communications. Promote employment and networking opportunities to maximize student engagement and placement success. Ensure compliance with institutional policies, FERPA regulations, and best practices in career services administration. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Career Services Office mission. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in recruiting, career services, law firm administration, employer relations, business development, or related field. Demonstrated experience managing complex programs or initiatives with multiple stakeholders. Experience analyzing data and using metrics to inform strategic decisions. Proven ability to build and sustain professional relationships with external partners. Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities. Experience managing budgets or financial tracking. High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to travel locally for employer outreach and work occasional evenings/weekends. Proven ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, preferably of Microsoft Office Suite applications. Technical ability to learn and use enterprise software. Ability to work occasional weekends and evening hours, as needed. Ability to travel locally to conduct employer outreach in the Southern California legal community and travel more extensively on occasion, as required by the position. Desired Qualifications Juris Doctor degree Experience in legal recruiting or law school career services. Experience with Symplicity, 12-Twenty or similar recruiting platforms.
