Missouri Capitol Police is seeking a dedicated part-time Capitol Police Dispatcher who believes in providing quality service, upholds a strong work ethic and accountability, and helps achieve our mission. Responsibilities - What you'll do

Job Responsibilities:

Operate a multi-channel two-way radio system. Maintain radio traffic and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) records of officer activities, including collecting data on racial profiling. Monitor radio traffic from municipal, county, and state highway patrol agencies. Monitor various alarms and dispatch the appropriate response. Answer incoming telephone calls and determine the appropriate actions. Request emergency law enforcement, fire, and medical assistance as needed. Operate visual display systems for security cameras across the Capitol Police jurisdiction and property. Maintain Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) certification and schedule department personnel for MULES training as needed. Manage the records filing system and checklist for accessing, disseminating, and fulfilling law enforcement record-keeping requirements. Provide information and assistance to the public and to state employees. Perform other communications and clerical functions as needed. Qualifications - All you need for success

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent. Prior police dispatch experience and MULES certification preferred. Applicants who are not MULES certified will be registered with the Missouri State Highway Patrol for the first available training. Applicants will be subject to a comprehensive background investigation by the Missouri Capitol Police encompassing employment and criminal history. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of two-way radio communications equipment and general dispatching procedures. Strong communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritize calls for service, and disseminate information quickly and accurately. Ability to speak clearly and concisely over the telephone and radio during emergencies. Excellent computer literacy and proficiency with multiple software programs to accurately document calls for service and all departmental activities. Excellent grammar and punctuation skills. Ability to learn and operate a unified security system that integrates video surveillance and access control for state buildings. Ability to type proficiently and accurately. Ability to work both independently and with other team members. Ability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
