Join our team as a Dispatcher and play a vital role in keeping our UNL community safe. You'll be the critical link between callers in need and emergency responders—making a difference every shift. What You'll Do Answer emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS services Use multi-line phones, radio systems, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) tools to coordinate rapid response Communicate clearly and calmly with callers and first responders during high-stress situations Relay essential information to public safety officials and partner agencies Maintain accurate records and reports Complete six months of paid training What Makes You a Great Fit A strong commitment to serving your community Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to stay calm, focused, and detail-oriented during urgent situations Interest in technology and learning new systems Skill at multitasking and adapting to frequent interruptions Familiarity with campus and city geography (helpful but not required) Ability to work a variety of schedules (overnights, weekends, special events, etc.) Why Join Us?
