Duties Coordinate and assign trucks to freight shipments using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software Communicate with drivers via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear and professional phone call management and dispatch instructions Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to track vehicle locations and optimize routing strategies Manage shipping and receiving schedules, ensuring timely delivery and pickup of freight while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Maintain accurate data entry of dispatch records, delivery logs, and internal communication documentation Collaborate with supply chain teams to coordinate transportation planning efforts and resolve logistical issues promptly Provide excellent customer service by addressing driver inquiries, updating clients on shipment status, and managing phone etiquette professionally Experience Proven experience in transportation planning, road transportation operations, or fleet management is highly desirable Familiarity with logistics software such as Oracle Transportation Management or other transportation management systems is preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone call management and internal communication protocols Knowledge of freight shipping & receiving procedures along with DOT regulations for vehicle safety and compliance Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for data entry, reporting, and analysis tasks Ability to analyze logistical data using analysis skills to improve dispatch efficiency and route optimization This role is perfect for proactive individuals who thrive on coordination, problem-solving, and delivering exceptional service within the transportation sector.
