Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Freight Broker/Dispatcher to join our dynamic logistics team. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate freight shipments, manage carrier relationships, and ensure seamless transportation operations. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will drive efficiency, optimize routes, and support our supply chain objectives. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule freight shipments by liaising with carriers, drivers, and clients to ensure timely deliveries. Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments, update statuses, and maintain accurate data entry records. Communicate effectively with carriers and clients via multi-line phone systems, demonstrating professional phone etiquette and clear communication skills. Monitor GPS and GIS tools for real-time tracking of fleet movements, optimizing routes for efficiency and cost savings. Manage shipping & receiving documentation, including freight manifests, delivery confirmations, and shipping instructions. Assist in dispatching drivers by assigning loads based on availability, capacity, and delivery windows while maintaining compliance with transportation planning standards. Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, fleet management data, and logistics operations using systems. Requirements Proven experience in dispatching or freight brokerage within a transportation or logistics environment. Strong analysis skills to interpret GPS data, GIS mapping tools, and transportation management systems for effective decision-making. Familiarity with supply chain processes, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices. Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy using systems . Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for engaging with carriers, clients, and internal teams. Ability to multitask efficiently using multi-line phone systems while managing multiple shipments simultaneously. Be on call at night every other week for loads that come up after 5pm with additional pay for on call nights and Holiday On Call pay.
