This is a hands-on transportation operations position combining truckload dispatch, driver management, and load planning . The successful candidate will help manage freight and drivers throughout the complete operating cycle, including planning loads, assigning drivers, dispatching freight, monitoring shipments, resolving problems, and planning the driver's next productive movement. TCI is building a cross-trained operations team where Dispatcher / Load Planners have primary responsibilities but are capable of supporting northbound planning, southbound planning, and driver dispatch as business needs change. Key Responsibilities Plan and assign freight to company drivers and owner-operators. Dispatch and manage drivers throughout pickup, transit, and delivery. Plan northbound and southbound truckload movements. Plan ahead for the driver's next productive load. Review driver Hours of Service before assigning freight. Monitor loads and proactively address delays or service problems. Maximize productive truck miles while minimizing deadhead and inactive truck time. Communicate with drivers, customers, Customer Service, and Operations. Maintain accurate load, driver, and equipment information in the TMS. Use approved load boards and freight sources when needed to secure appropriate freight. Coordinate permits, escorts, customs clearance, and other shipment requirements when applicable. Help maintain productive utilization of available drivers, tractors, and trailers. Provide backup coverage for other Dispatcher / Load Planners. Participate in after-hours/on-call coverage as assigned. Follow DOT/FMCSA, safety, C-TPAT, and company operating requirements. Qualifications Transportation, trucking, dispatch, load-planning, logistics, or similar operations experience. Understanding of truckload operations and driver Hours of Service. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Computer proficiency and accurate data-entry skills. Bilingual English/Spanish. High school diploma or GED. Preferred Truckload dispatch and/or load-planning experience. Experience with TMW or another Transportation Management System. Experience with freight/load boards. Knowledge of U.S. freight lanes and geography. Cross-border U.S./Mexico transportation experience. Experience working with company drivers and owner-operators.
