Job Description

Job purpose The Disaster Preparedness Coordinator will be responsible for producing the Comprehensive Emergency Plan (CEMP) and work collaboratively with Regulatory Agencies, county health department and other medical care facilities to ensure the plan is accurate and up-to-date. Also to mitigate risks, plan thoroughly and sustain an effective response and recovery by educating staff and maintaining necessary equipment and supplies. Qualifications Associates Degree in Safety or Emergency Preparedness, preferred. Previous experience in emergency management utilizing the Incident Command Structure/ EMT training or emergency rescue, preferred. Knowledge of and ability to deal with regulatory agencies, i.e., NYS
DOH, JCAHO, OSHA, FEMA/SEMA.
Computer experience, required Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, with individual and in meetings. Ability to write progress reports to inform committees of progress, meeting requirements and goals of the program. BLS certification
