Job Description
Part-Time Associate Pastor -
Lead Wednesday evening Bible study, fostering spiritual growth and engagement.
Provide pastoral care and counseling to members and families, including hospital and home visits.
Officiate at weddings, funerals, and special services as requested and per our constitution and bylaws.
Work collaboratively with church leadership to set vision, goals, and priorities.
Attend and participate in church business meetings and leadership team meetings.
Support and encourage volunteer leaders and ministry teams.
Welcome and follow up with visitors and new attendees.
Encourage outreach and community engagement.
Compassionate, approachable, and able to relate to people of all ages.
Experience in church leadership, teaching, or ministry (formal theological education is helpful but not required).Willingness to work collaboratively with church leadership and volunteers.
Northern New York Southern Baptist Church:
Are you called to shepherd a small, vibrant Southern Baptist congregation? Alexandria Bay Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist fellowship in beautiful Northern New York, is seeking a part-time Associate Pastor to provide spiritual leadership, biblical teaching, and pastoral care for our church family of about 40-50 members. This position offers the opportunity to transition to Senior Pastor after approximately one year, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who senses God's leading toward long-term pastoral ministry. Ordination, a Christian ministry degree, and seminary training are preferred but not required. Starting salary is approximately $20,000 annually, increasing to approximately $30,000 upon transition to Senior Pastor.Location:

Qualifications:
Demonstrates a mature Christian faith and life consistent with biblical pastoral qualifications as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.Ability to teach and communicate biblical truth clearly.Compassionate, approachable, and able to relate to people of all ages.
Experience in church leadership, teaching, or ministry (formal theological education is helpful but not required).Willingness to work collaboratively with church leadership and volunteers.
