About Us:
Parsonage Cottage Senior Residence, a part of Greenwich Communities , is a respected residential care facility committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our residents. We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Facility Manager
  • Operations to oversee the daily upkeep, safety, and operational efficiency of our building and grounds.
Position Overview:
The Facility Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining all building systems, and supporting the needs of staff and residents. This position requires hands-on work, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to be available on-call for emergencies 24/7.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct weekly water temperature testing (must not exceed 120°F or drop below 105°F).
  • Perform weekly and monthly generator testing in compliance with regulations (weekly: every Wednesday at 11:30 AM for 10 minutes; monthly: full load test for 30 minutes).
  • Complete yearly outlet inspections , checking all GFI outlets and ensuring no unauthorized extension cords or adapters are in use.
  • Organize monthly fire drills on varying shifts.
  • Perform monthly room and building inspections .
  • Conduct monthly fire extinguisher checks .
  • Inspect grounds for cleanliness and safety hazards ; remove trash as needed.
  • Respond promptly to staff and resident maintenance concerns .
  • Participate in safety committee activities .
  • Maintain facility vehicles, including fueling van every Friday .
  • Paint rooms, interior spaces, and porch as required.
  • Maintain gardens and landscaping.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and repair building issues as they arise.
  • Clean grease traps weekly with wet vac.
  • Supervise contracted cleaning staff.
  • Maintain MSDS books.
  • Ensure all maintenance logs in the office are accurate, current, and well-organized .
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in facility operations or building maintenance (preferably in a healthcare or residential care setting).
  • Knowledge of building systems, fire safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to perform light repairs, painting, and preventative maintenance.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and respond quickly in emergencies.
  • Must be available for on-call coverage 24/7 .
  • Must possess a CT or NY driver's license and have a good driving record.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Clean background check.
Compensation & Benefits:
