Job Description
Description Summary Under the direction of the Maintenance HVAC Lead, the Facilities Specialist will participate in projects and day-to-day operations of work in repair, maintenance, coordination of contractors, security of the buildings and grounds. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Involved in adjusting HVAC controls/systems and managing facility security system access controls
- Involved in working with outside contractors for all building and grounds services
- Check and monitor buildings and grounds on a continuous basis for potential hazards and security issues; handles security concerns, and roofing issues.
- Assist with purchasing goods and services, getting multiple bids for each project
- Follow safety rules and keep work areas in clean and orderly condition.
- Fix unsafe conditions and perform all duties in a safe manner.
- Serve as an active member of the Safety team working hand in hand with the EHS Specialist.
- Manage plant waste materials, including hazardous wastes. Must understand and follow waste management requirements for handling hazardous, nonhazardous, universal and other wastes. Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities or maintenance
- Some engineering skills required
- Proven ability to work with vendors and contractors
