Job Description
Responsibilities may include:
Executes approved project plans, ensuring all construction activities are completed efficiently, cost-effectively, and on schedule in alignment with the goals of Facility Services Operations (FSO) and the broader organization Coordinates engineering staff and construction-related trades, managing their assigned responsibilities to ensure objectives are met in accordance with established policies and procedures Coordinates engineering and construction activities across all departments, including Strategic Planning, Operations, Security, Telecommunications, Environmental Safety and Health, Business Administration, and research teams at all organizational levels Makes contacts with government officials, negotiates terms, resolves conflicts, and obtains required written approvals; ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including OSHA, OBBC, FDA, NFPA, City of Columbus Development Regulation Division, and Ohio EPA requirements Performs feasibility studies and reviews data for accuracy; prepares periodic reports and presentations for upper management, research groups, government agencies, and clients detailing project achievements, recommended improvements, and cost savings Participates in the planning and development of capital budgets and long-range plans for the King Avenue Campus and West Jefferson Sites Assists and advises managers and technical personnel through expert consultation on construction and engineering matters Tracks and monitors project progress, ensuring efficiency and contributing to organizational profitability Key Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an Construction or Engineering discipline with 5 years of engineering and construction experience in diverse R D design and construction environments, including specific experience related to chemical, vivarium, and/or biological facilities; an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field will be considered Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering and design (E&D) estimating Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively — both verbally and in writing — with all levels of management and technical staff Ability to maintain strong working relationships with clients and government officials; must be self-directed and able to adapt to rapidly changing conditions Fundamental understanding of management, business, and accounting principles, along with working knowledge ofOBBC, CDC
guidelines, and applicable government regulatory requirements Compensation Data Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $110,000 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
