Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Building Manager/Sexton to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of our facilities. This vital role combines operational management, staff supervision, and guest services to ensure a seamless experience for visitors and staff alike. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical proficiency, and a passion for creating welcoming environments. Your expertise will help maintain the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the church while supporting event execution and operational excellence. Responsibilities Ensure the safety and excellent condition of all St. Peter's facilities and grounds. Open and secure St. Peter's for services and other functions as requested by the Rector or Parish Administrator. Manage the set up and clean up of church functions or events. Sexton will be present for all events (i.e., weddings, funerals, etc) and will be paid extra by outside party. Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and assist in the storage of church property. Coordinate with the Building and Grounds Council to manage projects beyond capacity of Sexton, and/or maintenance costing over $750. Complete special projects or tasks as requested by the Rector, Parish Administrator, or Vestry. Qualifications Demonstrated leadership with previous supervisory or managerial roles in fast-paced environments. Strong knowledge of facilities management and technical proficiency in building operations. Excellent communication skills for team management, customer interactions, and report writing. Experience in managing events from setup through breakdown with attention to detail and safety compliance. Ability to make sound managerial decisions quickly under pressure. Knowledge of budgeting processes and operational management best practices. Pay:
From $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week
