Job Description

Job Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklift equipment to move, load, unload, and stack materials and products within the warehouse or manufacturing facility. This role ensures efficient material handling, supports production and shipping operations, and maintains a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklift trucks to transport materials, products, and equipment to designated locations. Load and unload trucks, containers, and pallets safely and efficiently. Stack and organize materials in storage areas, ensuring stability and accessibility. Inspect forklifts daily and perform basic maintenance checks. Follow all safety guidelines and warehouse procedures to prevent accidents. Maintain accurate records of inventory movement. Assist with cycle counts and inventory management as needed. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material needs and status. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly. Keep work area clean and organized.
Qualifications:
Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred. Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain certification. Knowledge of safety regulations related to forklift operation. Ability to operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, pallet jack). Good physical condition and ability to lift/move materials up to [XX] lbs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Basic math and record-keeping skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work Environment Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment. Use of PPE in production settings required. Occasional lifting, bending, repetitive motion, and extended standing/walking. Off-shift, overtime, or weekend support may be required.
