The Forklift Driver operates material handling equipment in a food production area to provide raw materials to the Blender Operators . This position also runs inventories by item to follow FIFO. This position requires P.I.T training (Powered Industrial Trucks).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assure that raw materials are properly labeled (each unit) Must verify that raw materials are approved Run inventory for each item Put raw material away in locations accordingly Pull shipping pick list Follow FIFO and GMPs Enforce GMPs with truck drivers and other vendors Perform Inbound truck and product inspections Assure lot traceability Ensure order accuracy
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and experience in Food Industry is a plus but not necessary Ability to read and write Ability to use a calculator to perform basic math Ability to use a laptop computer Ability to use a forklift unit / hand jack Ability to learn while training with an experienced Forklift Operator Ability to follow safety rules and requirements when working in dangerous areas or with power equipment Ability to work as a team member while under supervision of an experienced Forklift Operator Ability to perform other related duties as needed while under close supervision Ability to follow and implement GMPs and other Food Safety and Quality requirements
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs safely Must be able to go up and down stairs if required Quality /
Warehouse Training Needed:
High School or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience preferred Must complete all courses in necessary training schedule within 90 days of assuming position; during that time employee may perform duties under supervision of trained operator .
