Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator/Pallet Builder to join our dynamic saw mill. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to efficiently load, unload, and organize materials. Your expertise in warehouse management systems and order picking will ensure smooth distribution operations. Duties Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo equipment, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments in accordance with OSHA safety standards. Build pallets accurately by stacking materials securely for shipping or storage, ensuring compliance with weight limits and safety protocols. Assist with order picking using warehouse management systems (WMS) and manual methods to fulfill customer orders efficiently. Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain optimal functioning of all heavy machinery. Manage shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and preparing outgoing loads for dispatch. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing inventory using manual handling techniques and proper materials handling procedures. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to ensure safety standards are upheld during all operations and report any hazards or incidents immediately. Qualifications Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse or distribution setting. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picker operations is highly desirable. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and manual handling. Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform manual handling tasks regularly. Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy. Previous experience in warehouse distribution or shipping & receiving roles preferred. Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is required.
