In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating forklift and material handling equipment, and ensuring the safe and accurate movement of goods throughout the warehouse. Your proactive approach will help maintain smooth warehouse operations, support inventory management, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced distribution environment. Responsibilities Safely operate the forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse. Perform order picking using manual handling techniques and order picker equipment to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. Manage inventory by conducting regular stock counts, updating warehouse management systems (WMS), and ensuring proper storage of goods. Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying shipments, inspecting for damages, and documenting movement of goods according to safety standards in production. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse environment to promote safety and operational efficiency. Conduct routine equipment repairs or report maintenance needs promptly to ensure all material handling equipment operates safely and effectively. Follow OSHA guidelines, forklift safety protocols, and other safety standards to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment for all team members. Requirements Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts pallet jacks, or similar heavy machinery. Strong understanding of inventory management, shipping & receiving procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while adhering to OSHA safety standards. Basic math skills for counting inventory, measuring loads, and verifying shipment quantities accurately. Prior experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is preferred; warehouse supervisor experience is a plus. Knowledge of materials handling best practices including load & unload procedures and heavy equipment operation. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently in a fast-paced environment.
