Job Title:
Forklift Operator Job Description This role focuses on safely operating stand-up forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, store, and track materials throughout a large, clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You will support production by loading and unloading trucks, supplying assembly lines, and accurately completing inventory transactions using inventory management software and RF scanners. Responsibilities Operate material handling equipment, including stand-up forklifts, overhead cranes, turret trucks, and pallet riders, in a safe and efficient manner. Load and unload trucks with incoming and outgoing materials and finished goods. Stock and rack materials according to production needs, including placing and pulling materials from locations up to 20 feet in height. Supply assembly lines with purchased parts and materials to support continuous production. Move finished goods and unload steel and other raw materials as required. Complete receiving transactions for incoming materials using inventory management software to maintain accurate records. Use an RF scanner to complete all material transactions and ensure inventory accuracy. Fulfill assembly requests for materials and ensure timely delivery to the appropriate work areas. Complete service and product visibility requests to support internal stakeholders. Visually inspect all incoming and outgoing orders for defects or discrepancies and report issues as necessary. Accurately document all incoming and outgoing materials and supplies in the system. Follow safe and effective storage and material handling techniques to prevent damage and ensure workplace safety. Collaborate with team members and work effectively in a team environment to meet production and shipping deadlines. Stand and perform material handling duties for 8 or more hours per day and lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience operating a stand-up forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Proficiency in safe and effective storage and material handling techniques. Ability to read and write accurately to document incoming and outgoing materials and supplies. Ability to visually inspect orders for defects and identify discrepancies. Strong numerical abilities for counting, verifying, and recording inventory. Basic computer skills and the ability to use inventory management software. Ability to use an RF scanner to complete material transactions and maintain inventory accuracy. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for 8 or more hours per day. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers. Experience with heavy equipment operation and material handling tasks such as loading, unloading, and stock racking. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating additional material handling equipment such as overhead cranes, turret trucks, and pallet riders. Familiarity with climate-controlled manufacturing or distribution environments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in inventory documentation. Reliability and consistent attendance to support performance-based growth opportunities. Comfort working at heights up to 20 feet when placing and pulling materials. Why Work Here?
