Job Summary Gestamp is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Material Handler to support production and shipping operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and distribution of materials throughout the facility to ensure efficient production and on-time customer shipments. The Material Handler will operate material handling equipment, maintain accurate inventory records, load and unload materials, and work closely with production, shipping, and receiving teams to support daily operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety and PPE requirements; Performs daily and other required checks on fork trucks, cranes and documents results and follows through with maintenance reporting. Is concerned primarily with the safe operations of the industrial truck and ensures that pedestrians have the right of way. Direct movement of material to staging area for daily shipments. Loading and unloading trucks in a safe and timely manner. Inspection of trailers for any holes or damage before entering trucks. Movement of empty racks to storage area and cleaning of all shipping labels off racks before moving. Performs other duties and assignments as deemed necessary or appropriate. Daily 5S and work area organization Skills and Experience Ability to follow standardized work instructions and established processes Commitment to following all safety procedures and PPE requirements Forklift operation experience required Overhead crane operation experience preferred High school diploma or GED required Three (3) or more years of material handling experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Basic computer skills with inventory control systems; SAP experience preferred Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., including up to 25 lbs. overhead Manual dexterity sufficient to safely perform job duties Good vision and hearing Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime as needed Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong problem-solving skills Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift Commitment to following all safety procedures and PPE requirements Forklift operation experience required Overhead crane operation experience preferred High school diploma or GED required Three (3) or more years of material handling experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Basic computer skills with inventory control systems; SAP experience preferred Join the Gestamp Team!
