Engage with the larger community to dismantle stereotypes and advocate for our neighbors who are experiencing hunger, poverty and/or homelessness. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key donors, sponsors, and stakeholders to ensure ongoing financial support and engagement. Share the Churches United story with faith community leaders and faith communities. Regularly present reports on fundraising progress, budgets, and expenditures to the board and executive team. Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns to generate financial support for the organization. Create and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan that includes major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants, and special events. Create and implement strategies for increasing attendance at meetings and events. Identify prospective donors within member faith communities. Articulate the organization's program, goals, budgets, and volunteer and giving opportunities. Ensure Development financial resources are allocated effectively. Work with other departments to integrate fundraising strategies and ensure alignment with the Churches United's mission. Work with the Churches United team by sharing our story through community events, speaking engagements, publications, and CU special events. Assist the Leadership Team in other areas as needed. Competencies Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to plan and manage development projects effectively. Integrity and ethics beyond reproach Demonstrated resourcefulness and good judgment Vigilant attention to details Ability to analyze donor capacity and solicit monetary donations Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with donor database software Sensitivity to individual/family struggles with homelessness and hunger, poverty, substance abuse, mental illness, and other hardships Values diversity of thought, backgrounds, and perspectives Connection to Churches United mission and core values Work Environment This position typically operates in an office setting, with some travel required for events and donor meetings. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Flexibility in work hours may be necessary to accommodate fundraising events and donor engagements. Travel Some travel within the FM Community and near region is required. Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role. Special events may require moving of tables and chairs, lifting and unpacking supplies, etc. This requires the ability to lift 20 pounds and bend or stand, as necessary. Education and Experience Four-year degree from a college or proven experience as a Development Director or in a similar fundraising role, with a track record of successful fundraising initiatives.
