Job Description
Under minimal supervision, performs inspections of assigned areas and settings to ensure applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations are being met. Answers questions in and out of the office from the public regarding delegated programs. Conducts inspections of assigned areas and settings. Monitors the presence of, and identifies, hazardous pollutants that may pose a threat to public health and environments. Inspects public places and observes changes in the environment. Performs personnel training and procedure and program development Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Participates in Delegation Agreement negotiations and rule promulgation with ADEQ. Conducts field inspections. Facilitates the review of large projects (subdivisions, water line extensions, sewage collection systems) to determine compliance with applicable rules for issuance of approval documents. Conducts inspections for the appeal of previous findings of inspection and provides technical support to staff for environmental nuisance complaint resolution to ensure compliance with ADEQ rules. Facilitates implementation of other programs delegated by ADEQ and other agencies.
