Type:
full-time The ideal candidate will enjoy working with adolescent girls and be committed to creating a safe, positive, and encouraging environment where participants can build confidence, discover their strengths, and develop the skills needed for future success.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide positive mentoring, encouragement, and support to StrongHER participants.
Assist with daily after-school activities, including homework assistance, tutoring, enrichment, and group activities.
Facilitate or assist with leadership, social-emotional learning, wellness, STEM, and career exploration activities.
Build positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
Encourage students to develop academic, personal, and leadership goals.
Support students in developing communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and self-advocacy skills.
Assist with field trips, community service projects, special events, college/career experiences, and summer programming.
Help maintain a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and structured program environment.
Communicate appropriately with program staff and families regarding student participation and needs.
Maintain accurate attendance and basic program documentation.
Participate in staff meetings, training, and program planning.
Perform other duties related to the successful operation of the StrongHER program.
Qualifications & SkillsExperience working with middle or high school youth preferred.
Experience in youth development, education, mentoring, recreation, counseling, social services, or a related field preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish positive relationships with adolescents.
Dependable, patient, professional, and enthusiastic.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Commitment to supporting the academic, social-emotional, and personal development of girls.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow organizational policies and procedures.
Must be able to successfully complete required background screening.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in education, youth development, social work, psychology, human services, or a related field preferred.
