As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and driven General Manager to lead the business, develop our people, and position Heglar Creek Electric for long-term success. Position Overview The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and direction of Heglar Creek Electric. This individual will have accountability for the financial and operational performance of the company while developing a strong leadership team and ensuring our customers receive exceptional service. This position requires a leader who understands the electrical contracting or construction industry, can develop people and systems, and is comfortable taking ownership of the overall performance of the business. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and direction for Heglar Creek Electric and its business divisions. Take ownership of company performance, including profitability, growth, operational effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and employee development. Lead, coach, and hold accountable other members of the company's leadership team. Establish annual and long-term business goals and translate those goals into clear priorities and measurable results. Develop and manage company budgets, forecasts, financial targets, and key performance indicators. Regularly review financial and operational performance and take action to address areas that are not meeting expectations. Ensure the company maintains appropriate project margins, labor productivity, cost controls, and overall profitability. Work with operational leadership to ensure projects are properly staffed, scheduled, executed, and supported. Evaluate opportunities for growth across commercial, industrial, low voltage, automation, residential, and other potential markets. Maintain and strengthen relationships with key customers, general contractors, vendors, and industry partners. Develop a strong leadership team by coaching managers, establishing accountability, and creating opportunities for employee development. Build scalable processes and organizational structures that support continued company growth. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement. Ensure the company maintains compliance with applicable electrical codes, licensing requirements, safety regulations, employment practices, and company policies. Partner with Heglar Creek executive leadership on strategic initiatives, capital investments, staffing needs, and long-term planning. Represent Heglar Creek Electric professionally within the company, industry, and local community. Qualifications Proven leadership experience within electrical contracting, construction, skilled trades, or a closely related industry. 5+ years of progressive leadership experience, including experience managing managers or leading a significant business operation. Strong understanding of electrical contracting operations, project management, estimating, field operations, or construction management. Demonstrated experience managing financial performance, including budgets, project profitability, margins, forecasting, and cost control. Experience leading and developing large teams and building effective management structures. Strong business judgment with the ability to make decisions using financial, operational, and customer information. Ability to establish priorities, delegate effectively, and hold leaders accountable for results. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to lead through growth and organizational change. Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry and leadership experience will be considered.
