Windstar Lines is launching an exciting new startup in Bloomington, IL and looking for a hands-on, growth minded, adaptable General Manager to lead the charge. In this role, no two days will look the same. You'll be at the heart of the operations, from building the team to jumping in wherever needed to keep things moving forward. Essential Job Functions:

Ensures all departments are properly staffed by overseeing the effective recruiting, hiring, and promoting the right people for the right positions. Makes sure employees are being effectively managed daily to maximize productivity and morale, including through coaching of key leaders/employees. Optimizes employee performance through effective ongoing evaluations, recognition, rewards, and discipline/corrective management to product expected results. Strengthens employee performance through timely training and development. Effectively structures the organization's systems, processes, and procedures to facilitate the achievement of results and productive intra-company/inter-departmental coordination. Successfully resolves deviations from expected performance through systems that monitor and track performance. Ensures adherence to policies and procedures; and makes policy recommendations to the executive team. Continuously seeks new and more productive ways to achieve company goals. Ensures the company proactively and effectively manages customer expectations. Promotes, evaluates, monitors and is responsive to customer feedback, including the resolution of issues and problems.

Essential Job Skills:

Ability to timely respond to common inquiries or concerns from customers, the public and/or governmental and regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively present information to current and potential customers, executive management, and public groups. Competent with technology/computers including Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of transportation software a plus. This includes Coach Manager and Samsara. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
