Position Summary The General Manager leads all aspects of a Lindsay Precast manufacturing operation and holds full P&L responsibility for the business unit. This role carries direct accountability for all operations that contribute to successfully run the business, including but not limited to Sales, Operations, Safety and Quality. In this hands-on leadership role, the General Manager drives the team to new heights and financial performance. Key Responsibilities Operations & Production- Hold full management responsibility for all business operations, including P&L ownership and program performance.
- Lead the business to meet annual stretch goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Acquire, align, and prioritize resources and operational plans in support of team and company objectives.
- Direct workforce planning and production scheduling to match capacity with customer demand and backlog.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across both manufacturing and back-office functions, including lean and 5S practices.
- Proactively resolve technical, people, and production issues to ensure consistent output and uphold the standards of the precast products manufactured.
- Partner with the product management team on new product development, contributing information on product design and cost, capacity planning, product performance, tooling cost, and schedule.
- Oversee dispatch, delivery, and customer service functions to protect on-time performance and the customer experience. Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Own plant safety performance and visibly lead a culture in which safety is a condition of employment, not a competing priority.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental and DOT requirements.
- Maintain a working knowledge of precast concrete characteristics and processes and ensure production is carried out in accordance with Federal, DOT, NPCA, ACI, and other governing standards.
- Ensure the NPCA (National Precast Concrete Association) quality control program is established, maintained, audited, and followed.
- Support incident investigation, near miss reporting, and corrective action in line with
LFOB EHS
protocols. Financial & Commercial Performance- Develop, manage, and deliver the annual operating plan, budget, and capital plan for the business unit.
- Monitor cost of goods sold, labor efficiency, material yield, scrap and rework, and overhead absorption, and act on variances.
- Partner with Business Development and Estimating on pricing, bid strategy, and margin management.
- Build long-term relationships with key customers, contractors, engineers, and specifying agencies in the market. Leadership & Talent
- Provide leadership across the organization for problem resolution, faster improvement, and stronger working relationships.
- Develop talent at both the individual and team level, including a documented succession plan for key positions.
- Set goals and objectives for the plant and coach direct reports in setting and achieving their own.
- Create an environment that encourages and supports free, honest, and effective communication at every level.
- Partner with Human Resources on staffing, employee relations, performance management, training, and compliance with company policy and employment law. Administration
- Oversee administrative functions of the plant, including safety administration, human resources support, and training programs.
- Initiate and lead short-term and long-term planning efforts for the business unit.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of operational, financial, and workforce data to the Business Unit President and corporate functions.
- Five (5) years of progressive management experience, including a minimum of two (2) years in an Operations or Plant Management role.
- Strong track record of delivering operational and financial results, including P&L or budget accountability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a management team in a production environment.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing safety and quality systems.
- Proficiency with ERP and Microsoft Office applications, and comfort using data to drive decisions. Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience in precast concrete, building products, heavy manufacturing, or construction.
- Familiarity with NPCA certification, ACI standards, and DOT specifications.
- Experience deploying lean, 5S, or other structured continuous improvement systems. Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

- Work is performed in both an office setting and an active precast manufacturing plant and yard, with regular exposure to outdoor weather, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
- Required personal protective equipment includes hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, high-visibility clothing, and steel-toed boots in production and yard areas.
- Must be able to move about the plant and yard, including climbing stairs and ladders and traversing uneven surfaces, for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional travel to other plants, customer sites, and jobsites; valid driver's license required. What We Offer
