A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education (required) Demonstrated knowledge of current teaching strategies and differentiated instruction Experience in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Strong skills in behavior management and student engagement Effective communication abilities with students, parents, and school staff Adaptability and flexibility to meet various student needsKey Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging, individualized lessons tailored to students with differing abilities Develop, implement, and monitor progress on IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines Collaborate with general education teachers, school counselors, and related service providers to foster a supportive learning atmosphere Provide accommodations, modifications, and support to ensure student access to the curriculum Track and document student progress, regularly communicating updates to guardians and multidisciplinary teams Create a positive, inclusive classroom climate that encourages student participation and social-emotional growthBenefits & Perks:
