As a Special Education Teacher, you'll use your expertise to foster a positive and inclusive classroom, collaborating with colleagues to meet diverse learning needs and encourage each student's growth.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education (required) Demonstrated knowledge of current teaching strategies and differentiated instruction Experience in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Strong skills in behavior management and student engagement Effective communication abilities with students, parents, and school staff Adaptability and flexibility to meet various student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging, individualized lessons tailored to students with differing abilities Develop, implement, and monitor progress on IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines Collaborate with general education teachers, school counselors, and related service providers to foster a supportive learning atmosphere Provide accommodations, modifications, and support to ensure student access to the curriculum Track and document student progress, regularly communicating updates to guardians and multidisciplinary teams Create a positive, inclusive classroom climate that encourages student participation and social-emotional growth
