Salary plus performance-based bonus opportunities Position Overview Grease Monkey is seeking a motivated, dependable, and hands-on Manager in Training (MIT) to join our team. This position is designed to develop future store leaders through a comprehensive 4-week training program focused on all aspects of automotive service center operations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, automotive knowledge, a customer-first mindset, and the drive to successfully manage a high-performing team and store. As a Manager in Training, you will learn every aspect of operating a Grease Monkey location, including customer service, sales, inventory management, staffing, vehicle maintenance operations, safety compliance, and financial performance. Upon successful completion of the training program, candidates will be expected to assist with or assume management responsibilities within a store location. Benefits Competitive salaried compensation Performance-based bonus opportunities Paid Time Off (PTO) Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Hardship and Emergency Assistance Programs Career advancement opportunities Ongoing leadership and automotive training Key Responsibilities Complete a structured 4-week management training program Learn and execute all Grease Monkey operating procedures and standards Manage daily store operations and workflow Lead, coach, train, and develop team members Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally Oversee vehicle service quality and ensure repairs and maintenance are completed accurately Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and state inspection requirements Monitor labor, inventory, sales, and profitability metrics Assist with hiring, scheduling, performance management, and employee development Ensure accurate documentation, invoicing, inspections, and service recommendations Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment Support sales growth through customer education and service recommendations Handle opening and closing procedures, cash management, and operational reporting Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to obtain or currently possess North Carolina Safety and Emissions Inspection Licenses Previous management, supervisory, or team leadership experience preferred Comfortable leading, motivating, and holding employees accountable Strong communication and customer service skills Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn shop management software Ability to work a 50-hour weekly schedule, including occasional weekends as needed Preferred Qualifications Extensive automotive repair, maintenance, or service experience Previous experience managing an automotive repair shop, quick lube center, dealership service department, tire shop, or similar automotive business ASE certifications or other automotive credentials are a plus Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repair recommendations Proven track record of sales performance and team leadership Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in an active shop environment for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to work in varying temperatures and shop conditions Must possess the stamina and physical capability to actively assist in daily shop operations when needed What We're Looking For Successful candidates are dependable, trustworthy, hardworking, and lead by example.
