Job Description

General Manager Waterline RV Resort Temple, Texas Waterline RV Resort is seeking a professional and motivated General Manager to oversee daily resort operations, guest experience, financial performance, staffing, and maintenance oversight. The General Manager serves as the primary liaison to Resort ownership and is accountable for the safety, appearance, and overall success of the property. Waterline RV Resort is committed to providing a welcoming, well-maintained, and community-oriented destination where guests feel relaxed, safe, and cared for. The General Manager plays a key role in delivering this experience through strong leadership, attention to detail, and a hospitality mindset. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Resort Leadership & Operations Oversee all Resort policies, processes, and procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures and applicable federal, state, and local laws. Serve as the primary liaison to ownership, providing regular updates on operations, guest issues, upcoming events, and property performance. Conduct regular walk throughs of the property to monitor cleanliness, safety, maintenance needs, and guest experience. Lead and support Resort staff to ensure efficient operations and excellent guest service. Resort staff may include a small team of part-time employees. Ensure staffing coverage during all clubhouse and owner-approved operating hours. Schedule staff appropriately during peak periods (including weekends and events) and personally cover shifts when necessary to maintain operations. Coordinate and direct daily operations to ensure alignment with the Resort's mission, objectives, and brand standards. Meet regularly with ownership to review operations, financial performance, progress toward goals, and emerging opportunities or concerns. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding resort operations, financials, and personnel matters.
  • Exercise sound judgment to identify and escalate urgent issues to owners immediately, including safety incidents, guest-impacting problems, regulatory/compliance concerns, significant financial variances, or reputational risks.
  • Operate within financial and operational authority delegated by ownership and seek approval for expenditures or decisions beyond approved thresholds. Guest Experience
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff by monitoring property conditions, enforcing resort rules, and responding appropriately to incidents.
  • Resolve guest complaints related to facility and maintenance issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain exceptional guest service standards and foster a welcoming, community-oriented atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and positive relationships. Personnel Management Supervise all Resort staff and contractors. Lead hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, performance evaluations, discipline, and dismissal processes.
  • Review and approve employee hours for payroll processing.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and accountable work environment that reflects and reinforces Waterline's culture and mission—setting the tone through servant leadership, integrity, hospitality, and a commitment to community.
Financial & Administrative Oversight Track and report daily revenue, expenses, and operational issues to ownership. Review financial and sales reports with ownership to identify trends, measure performance, and recommend improvements Prepare, manage, and control operating, marketing, and maintenance budgets in collaboration with Resort owners. Collaborate with Resort Owners to Monitor and execute the annual business plan to ensure long-term success and viability of the Resort. Monitor occupancy trends, pricing strategies, and seasonal demand to help maximize resort revenue and guest retention. Manage and maintain the reservation system and other operational technology platforms to ensure accurate bookings, reporting, and guest communication. Preferred Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or a related field preferred High School Diploma or equivalent required Minimum of three (2) years of experience in resort, hospitality, property management, or related leadership roles preferred Experience in high-volume, customer-service environments Knowledge of hotel, hospitality, and/or RV resort operations and facility maintenance preferred Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and data analysis tools Skills Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills Clear and effective verbal and written communication Financial acumen, including budgeting and expense management Time management and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities Computer and technology proficiency Ability to interpret policies, procedures, contracts, and reports Strong organizational and analytical skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle frequent interruptions Sound judgment with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Qualifications Valid driver's license required Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required Ability to pass a background check and drug test Ability to use a personal cell phone for Resort business Occasional local travel required (e.g., purchasing supplies, industry conferences) Position Type & Compensation Full-time, exempt position Salary commensurate with experience

$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
