This role carries full responsibility for the performance of both our structural/miscellaneous metal fabrication shop and our Truck Body & Equipment division — including safety, production, quality, staffing, and profitability. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced fabrication environment and can balance shop-floor leadership with strategic, big-picture management. Duties Direct daily operations across the fabrication shop and the Truck Body & Equipment division Own full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control Recruit, lead, and develop production supervisors, shop leads, and support staff Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Ferrotek's quality standards Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements Drive continuous improvement in shop productivity, workflow, and equipment utilization Manage key customer relationships across construction, industrial, and fleet/equipment clients Oversee procurement, inventory management, and vendor/supplier relationships Partner with sales and estimating on bidding, scheduling, and capacity planning Develop and execute strategic plans to support growth of both divisions Report on operational and financial performance to ownership/executive leadership Qualifications 7+ years of progressive management experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or a related industrial setting Demonstrated success owning P&L and leading operations for a shop-based or manufacturing business Strong working knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, and shop operations Experience in construction, structural steel, or truck equipment/fleet industries strongly preferred Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Comfortable reading blueprints and technical drawings Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulatory compliance Proficiency with ERP/production management software and Microsoft Office Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience About Ferrotek Ferrotek is a metal fabrication company based in Ferndale, Washington, specializing in structural and miscellaneous metal fabrication for private and commercial construction and industrial clients. In addition to our core fabrication operations, Ferrotek operates a dedicated Truck Body & Equipment division. We're known for quality craftsmanship, reliable delivery, and a hands-on approach to every project, and we're looking for a General Manager to help lead our team into its next chapter of growth.
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
