(To ensure consideration, please submit all application materials before review date) 09/17/2026 Posting Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Description of Work The Grant Specialist serves in a customer-facing, consultative role and is responsible for providing grant support in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL , State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines. The Grant Specialist primarily executes and reviews routine and complex pre- and post- award grant transactions. The Grant Specialist will work closely with employees within the College of Education and Human Sciences as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions. This position functions under limited supervision and is expected utilize sophisticated technology to provide professional services. Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related finance or grant management work experience; equivalent education/experience considered. Experience with SAP or large integrated finance system. A willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new hardware and software systems. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines. Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are preferred but not required: Experience performing project or cost accounting. Experience completing finance or grant tasks in a business setting. Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices. Knowledge of grant terminology and practices. Pre-Placement Driving Record Review Required No Physical Required No Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
