Overview We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our non -profit organization with passion, strategic insight, and a commitment to excellence. This pivotal role involves guiding the organization's mission, fostering strong community relationships, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality social services. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of leadership expertise, administrative acumen, and a deep understanding of social service programs, especially those supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and underserved communities. As the driving force behind our initiatives, you will inspire staff, manage resources effectively, and uphold compliance standards to achieve impactful outcomes. Leadership & Strategic Planning
- Lead the implementation of the organization's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
- Develop organizational goals and measurable outcomes in collaboration with the Board.
- Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, innovation, equity, and continuous improvement.
- Keep the Board informed of organizational performance, opportunities, and challenges. Organizational Management
- Direct the day-to-day operations of the organization.
- Develop policies and procedures that support organizational effectiveness.
- Promote member engagement, professional development, and retention.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing nonprofit and behavioral health services. Financial Management
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget.
- Ensure sound fiscal stewardship and internal financial controls.
- Monitor financial performance and provide regular reports to the Board.
- Oversee audits, grant compliance, and financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to diversify revenue streams and strengthen financial sustainability. Fundraising & Resource Development
- Lead fundraising initiatives including major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and special events.
- Build relationships with donors, foundations, corporations, and government funders.
- Collaborate with the Board on resource development strategies.
- Ensure timely grant applications and compliance with reporting requirements. Program Oversight
- Ensure delivery of high-quality prevention, treatment, recovery support, education, and community outreach services.
- Evaluate program effectiveness using data and evidence-based practices.
- Identify opportunities to expand services based on community needs.
- Promote innovation and continuous quality improvement. Community Relations & Advocacy
- Serve as the organization's primary spokesperson.
- Build strong partnerships with healthcare systems, behavioral health providers, schools, law enforcement, public health agencies, community organizations, and policymakers.
- Advocate for policies that improve prevention, treatment access, recovery supports, and behavioral health outcomes.
- Represent the organization at community meetings, conferences, and public events. Board Relations
- Maintain effective communication with the Board of Directors.
- Support Board committees and governance activities.
- Assist in Board development, orientation, and strategic planning. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure organizational compliance with nonprofit regulations, licensing requirements, accreditation standards, grant requirements, and ethical practices.
- Oversee risk management, quality assurance, and organizational policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other applicable privacy laws. Required
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit management, behavioral health, healthcare, or substance use services.
- Experience managing organizational budgets and multiple funding sources.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising and grant management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams. Preferred
- Master's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Experience with substance use prevention, treatment, harm reduction, or recovery support services.
- Knowledge of Medicaid, SAMHSA, state behavioral health systems, and nonprofit regulations.
