Staff Full Time Job Description The Pre-Award Grants Manager is responsible for pre-award management of grants and sponsored projects in the Office of Research, Grants and Sponsored Programs (ORGSP). Required Qualifications Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education/experience and strong oral and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience in proposal development or grants administration
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex sponsor and agency regulations
  • Demonstrated experience with business and/or grant software; and
  • A strong attention to detail

Job Duties . Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, and students, and to the community at large . Participate on University committees . Review award notices of funding opportunities, requests for proposals to assure that the University community is aware of potential awards . Manage pre-award activities, including proposal development and budget creation . Review proposals for compliance with sponsor guidelines, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements . Guide interested principal investigators, faculty, and research teams through the internal routing process . Collaborate with principal investigators, faculty, and research teams to develop high-quality, competitive grant proposals . Maintain accurate records of all pre-award activities, including grant proposals, budget modifications, and sponsor communications . Work closely with the Executive Director of ORGSP and the Post-Award manager to ensure seamless transition and handoff of successful proposals . Maintain a current and working knowledge of sponsor and federal regulations, policies and procedures by attending training, on-line training opportunities and through on the job experiences as coordinated with the Executive Director of ORGSP . Provide regular reports and updates to the Executive Director of ORGSP on pre-award activities, proposal outcomes, and funding trends. . Other duties as assigned
