10-25 hours per week (very flexible) White Pine Micro Markets - Greater Portland / Southern Maine White Pine Micro Markets is a veteran-owned Maine company providing modern, self-service smart stores to apartment communities, workplaces, museums, colleges, and other locations throughout Southern Maine. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a dependable Independent Contractor Route Stocker to help service and restock our existing smart-store locations. This is a part-time independent contractor opportunity primarily covering Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Rather than hourly compensation, contractors are paid based on completed locations, making this a good fit for someone who works efficiently, enjoys being on the road, and is comfortable working independently. Compensation $25 per completed location serviced + $0.50 per business mile driven. Routes will consist of multiple locations, allowing several sites to be completed during the same route. Mileage reimbursement applies to approved business mileage associated with the assigned route. Product will be picked up from our warehouse in Gray, Maine , before servicing assigned locations throughout the Greater Portland/Southern Maine area. Schedule We're primarily looking for availability on: Thursday Friday Saturday (although coverage on other days could also be available) There is flexibility in when routes are completed, subject to location access requirements and service needs. Additional routes or locations may become available as White Pine Micro Markets continues to expand. Current route coverage extends from Kennebunk to Auburn, Maine. However, White Pine Micro Markets is actively expanding throughout New England. As new locations are added, in the next year service coverage is expected to expand to Bangor, Maine through Southern Maine, and into Manchester, New Hampshire, and portions of Northern Massachusetts. Responsibilities Restock smart stores and micro-markets on assigned routes Load, transport, and unload inventory using storage bins and carts Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices Monitor expiration dates and freshness of products Remove or report products approaching expiration Ensure fresh food, beverages, and snacks are properly rotated and merchandised Use smartphone-based inventory management systems Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing retail displays Identify low inventory levels and communicate restocking needs Report equipment issues, service concerns, or maintenance needs promptly Represent White Pine Micro Markets professionally at all client locations Requirements Reliable personal vehicle capable of transporting multiple inventory bins Valid driver's license and current auto insurance Smartphone (iOS or Android) Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds repeatedly Comfortable driving throughout Maine, New Hampshire, and Northern Massachusetts as service routes expand Understanding of product rotation and inventory management principles Ability to follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures and maintain freshness standards Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Positive attitude and professional appearance Scheduling One of the major advantages of this position is schedule flexibility. Many of our locations operate 24 hours per day, allowing service visits to be completed during a variety of hours. However, several customer locations require service during normal business hours, typically between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM .
