Every day, we receive computers, laptops, stereo equipment, speakers, televisions, servers, and other electronics from businesses, schools, organizations, and community recycling events. Some equipment can be tested and resold. Some can be repaired or used for parts. Some is responsibly recycled. Moving that much material takes more than putting things on shelves. We need to know what we have, where it is, what has been tested, what has been sold, and where material needs to go next. We're looking for a dependable, organized, hands-on person who takes pride in keeping inventory accurate and material moving through the warehouse. What You'll Do As an Inventory Control Technician I, you'll help maintain the connection between our physical inventory and the information in our inventory system. Every day is different, but you may: Receive tested electronics from our testing teams and move them into the appropriate inventory locations. Verify item numbers, descriptions, labels, quantities, and storage locations before putting material away. Stock and organize electronics so items can be located efficiently when they're needed. Update inventory locations and other required information according to established SOPs. Conduct routine inventory counts and physical inventory reconciliation. Investigate inventory discrepancies when an item isn't where the system says it should be. Help identify misplaced, unlabeled, duplicated, or incorrectly located inventory. Pick items accurately for customer orders and fulfillment. Verify that the correct item, model, quantity, and inventory record match before releasing material for fulfillment. Help stage completed orders for packing, shipping, pickup, or other fulfillment activities. Keep inventory locations, shelving, aisles, pallets, and staging areas organized. Move tested material out of the testing area so technicians can continue working without unnecessary backups. Move non-resale material from testing into the appropriate sort or recycling areas. Stage material for weighing, weigh-out, consolidation, and outbound load-outs. Help prepare pallets, bins, gaylords, and other material for movement through the warehouse. Assist with loading and unloading box trucks when needed. Occasionally support community electronics recycling events. Follow established procedures for inventory movement, documentation, reconciliation, and exception handling. This position involves both computer-based inventory work and physical warehouse work. You'll regularly move between a computer, shelves, pallets, testing areas, sorting areas, and shipping/receiving areas. What We're Looking For We're not simply looking for someone who can put boxes on a shelf. We're looking for someone who understands that inventory accuracy depends on doing each step correctly every time. Inventory Reconciliation Part of this position is making sure our physical inventory agrees with our inventory records. You may be asked to perform cycle counts, locate missing inventory, investigate incorrect locations, identify duplicate or incorrect records, verify labels, and help resolve differences between what the system says we have and what is actually on the shelf. When something doesn't match, we don't want you to simply change a number until the discrepancy disappears. We want you to investigate, document what you found, follow the established procedure, and escalate the issue when necessary. Fulfillment You'll also help our fulfillment process by locating and picking sold inventory. That means carefully matching the order to the physical item—not simply grabbing something that looks similar. Electronics that appear almost identical can have different model numbers, specifications, condition, accessories, testing results, and values. You'll be expected to verify that you're picking the specific inventory item associated with the order before it leaves its location. Material Flow Not everything Tech Remove receives becomes resale inventory. You'll help keep material flowing between different parts of our operation. That may include moving tested resale inventory into storage, moving non-resale equipment from testing into sorting areas, staging recyclable commodities for weighing, consolidating material, and helping prepare pallets, bins, or other containers for outbound load-outs. Keeping material moving is important because a backup in one area can quickly affect the rest of the operation. Work Environment This is an active warehouse position that combines inventory-control responsibilities with physical materials handling. You'll spend part of your day using computers and inventory systems and part of your day walking the warehouse, stocking shelves, counting inventory, picking orders, moving electronics, and staging material. You'll work around shelving, pallets, pallet jacks, bins, gaylords, loading docks, box trucks, electronics, and other warehouse equipment. Some activities may take place outdoors during summer heat, winter cold, and changing weather conditions.
