Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Foreman/Driver/Helper and take charge of heavy-duty waste collection and transportation operations! This energetic role combines leadership, skilled driving, and hands-on assistance to ensure efficient and safe waste management services. You will oversee daily route execution, operate various commercial trucks, and support team members in delivering exceptional customer service. Duties Lead and supervise waste collection routes, ensuring timely and accurate pickup of municipal or commercial waste using front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, or tractor-trailers. Safely operate a variety of heavy-duty commercial trucks, including those with air brake systems and manual transmissions, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws. Load and unload waste materials efficiently while maintaining safety protocols; assist with heavy lifting tasks as needed. Maintain vehicle safety by conducting routine inspections, basic mechanical checks, and reporting any issues promptly to ensure optimal performance. Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during pickups or drop-offs, addressing concerns courteously. Follow all safety procedures related to hazardous materials regulations and solid waste management standards to ensure compliance at all times. Support team coordination by assisting helpers with route navigation, load securing, and ensuring adherence to traffic laws during route driving. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks such as front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, or flatbeds; previous delivery driver experience is a plus. Valid driver's license (DL) with endorsements for air brakes; experience with manual transmissions preferred. Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, hazardous materials handling (if applicable), and municipal waste management practices. Demonstrated defensive driving skills with a clean driving record; familiarity with route driving in outdoor environments. Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues; understanding of safety protocol adherence is essential. Excellent communication skills combined with a customer-focused attitude to ensure positive interactions with clients and team members alike.
