Job Description

TOPS Staffing is hiring a Tank Tester / Laborer for a fabrication shop located in Cheswick, PA.
Shift & Schedule:
Afternoon shift, Mon-Fri, 3pm to 11:30pm
Pay:
Starting at $24.96 per hour + shift differential for afternoon shift
Training Requirement:
This position will require an initial training period on daylight shift (6:30am to 3:00pm) could be as short as 2 weeks but could be up to one month duration.
Job Overview:
Join a dynamic team as a Tank Tester / Laborer, where you'll play a key role in quality assurance and supporting various divisions of our fabrication shop. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in tank testing, assembly, and general labor tasks, all while working in a fast-paced environment that values a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform visual quality inspections on finished boilers and tanks Help with hydro testing, pressurizing tanks, and monitoring for leaks Assist in material handling, loading/unloading trucks, and warehouse tasks Support assembly, painting, and other shop operations as needed Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (experience preferred) Help with mixing materials like cement, grout, or drywall mud as required
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED Prior experience with material handling or machine operation preferred Overhead crane and forklift experience are a plus Ability to work in confined spaces and in various positions (bending, crawling, kneeling, climbing) Comfortable working in a non-tempered environment
Physical & Work Environment:
Prolonged standing and physical activity required Work involves confined spaces within large tanks and general shop movement Must be okay working in an un-tempered building setting Flexibility to perform diverse tasks across different shop divisions If you're a motivated individual with a "can-do" attitude and an interest in learning a variety of skills, this is your chance to get your foot in the door and grow into a more specialized role with increased pay.
