Position Summary The Bagging Plant Laborer supports the production of finished soil products by operating bagging equipment, sealing and stacking bags, palletizing finished products, restocking supplies, maintaining the work area, and performing general plant and groundskeeping duties. This position requires regular physical activity and the ability to work safely around production equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate the bagging machine and bag sealer. Stack finished bags of product on pallets. Operate pallet-wrapping equipment. Restock bags and other production supplies as needed. Perform daily cleanup of the bagging facility and surrounding work areas. Perform raking, shoveling, sweeping, and general groundskeeping. Perform routine equipment care, including cleaning, greasing, and checking fluid levels. Follow established safety procedures and promptly report unsafe conditions or equipment concerns. Assist with other production and general labor duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work safely and effectively around machinery and production equipment. Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Previous production, warehouse, manufacturing, landscaping, or general labor experience preferred, but not required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required. Physical Requirements This position regularly requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, climbing stairs or ladders, balancing, grasping and handling materials, and pushing and pulling. The position requires frequent lifting and carrying of bagged soil products and other materials. Individual bags may weigh up to approximately 50 pounds. Employees are expected to use safe lifting practices and available assistance or equipment when appropriate.
