Operations Manager, Andy Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on, organized, and proactive Material Planner / Buyer to support our manufacturing operation in Azusa. This position is responsible for monitoring inventory levels, reviewing material availability in our ERP system, working closely with Production to understand upcoming material requirements, and purchasing materials as needed to support production schedules. The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative, follows through, stays organized, and does not wait to be told what needs to be done. This is a hands-on role that requires someone who is comfortable working in the system, communicating with Production, identifying material needs, and taking action to prevent shortages or production delays. Key Responsibilities Review inventory levels and on-hand quantities in the company's ERP system. Monitor material requirements and identify items that need to be purchased. Work closely with Production and Operations to understand upcoming production needs and priorities. Create and process purchase orders for materials, supplies, and other production-related items. Coordinate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules. Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on outstanding materials to ensure timely delivery. Maintain accurate inventory and purchasing records within the ERP system. Identify potential material shortages and communicate issues proactively to Operations and Production. Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and reconciliation of inventory records. Participate in year-end physical inventory and assist with preparation, counting, reconciliation, and resolving inventory discrepancies. Research inventory discrepancies and work with appropriate departments to correct issues. Maintain accurate information regarding inventory levels, purchasing activity, and material availability. Communicate effectively with Production, Operations, vendors, and other internal departments. Assist with additional purchasing, inventory, and planning responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in purchasing, buying, material planning, inventory control, or a similar manufacturing environment. Experience using an ERP/accounting system to monitor inventory and purchasing activity. Sage experience is strongly preferred. Experience with a similar ERP system will also be considered. Manufacturing or industrial environment experience preferred. Strong computer and data-entry skills with attention to detail. Ability to analyze inventory information and determine what materials need to be purchased. Strong follow-up and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with Production, Operations, and vendors. Must be proactive, dependable, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the Operations and Production teams. Mandarin Chinese bilingual skills preferred. Sage experience is ideal, but candidates with experience using comparable ERP/inventory management systems may also be considered.
