Professional Background We are looking for a candidate who possesses at least 5 years of direct experience working as a Production Planner specifically within the aerospace sector. Core Responsibilities Develop and distribute comprehensive production schedules and capacity planning documents to guide operations. Utilize expertise in MRP/ERP software platforms to manage daily workflows. Oversee the full lifecycle of ERP system tasks, including material procurement, shop floor releases, and necessary schedule adjustments. Maintain strict adherence to order policies by monitoring contract requirements, batch sizes, lead times, and capacity resource planning. Monitor the progress of active jobs, encompassing both experimental projects and tooling requirements. Maintain accurate visual tracking and status coding for all parts. Operational Coordination Collaborate closely with the Manufacturing Manager to discuss order timelines and address potential scheduling setbacks. Proactively confirm delivery timelines by contacting or visiting suppliers to guarantee that arrival dates are met. Create vendor priority lists and milestone tracking charts to assist customers affected by delivery delays. Adjust delivery schedules and monitor stock levels to ensure inventory remains at optimal requirements. Analyze contract terms to ensure performance standards and delivery schedules are upheld. Communication and Improvement Engage with customers as required to provide transparent updates regarding order progress and any potential delays. Define essential MRP settings, such as safety stock levels, minimum order quantities, and lot sizing. Oversee the generation and maintenance of various internal reporting documents. Contribute to the success of the department by actively participating in ongoing continuous improvement initiatives. Required Proficiencies Valid forklift certification. Advanced operational knowledge of ERP and MRP software systems.
