Job Description

Logistics Support Specialist The Logistics Support Specialist will support the day to day shipping and logistics operations of the company. This role works closely with the logistics and production teams to coordinate shipments, communicate with drivers and carriers, prepare shipping documentation, and ensure materials and finished products are moved safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable using computers, and able to communicate effectively with drivers, coworkers, and outside carriers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Hours:
Full-Time, M-F, 6:30am-3:00pm (Occasional OT and varied hours based on shipping scheudle) Essential Roles & Responsibilities Assist with daily inbound and outbound shipping activities. Prepare shipping paperwork, labels, packing slips, bills of lading, and other required documentation. Communicate with truck drivers, carriers, and freight companies regarding pickups, deliveries, and shipping instructions. Coordinate and confirm scheduled pickups and deliveries. Use computer systems and ERP software to enter, update, and track shipping information. Assist with scheduling and organizing shipments to ensure products are ready and shipped on time. Load and unload materials and finished products using a forklift and other material-handling equipment. Verify shipments for accuracy, including quantities, products, packaging, and shipping documentation. Assist with packaging, labeling, staging, and preparing products for shipment. Maintain an organized and safe shipping area. Track shipments and communicate delivery updates or delays to the appropriate team members. Work closely with production, inventory, purchasing, and other departments to support shipping needs. Assist with inventory counts and locating materials or finished products as needed. Communicate any shipping, delivery, or inventory issues to the appropriate supervisor. Follow all company safety procedures and shipping requirements. Support other departments as needed and assist with special projects. Skills & Experience Strong communication and teamwork skills. High school diploma or GED required. Strong basic computer skills and ability to learn new computer and ERP systems. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with truck drivers, carriers, coworkers, and supervisors. Forklift experience required. Shipping, receiving, warehouse, or packaging experience preferred. Experience working with trucking companies or freight carriers preferred. Experience with shipping paperwork and documentation preferred. Manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred. Comfortable using Microsoft Office, email, and computer-based shipping or inventory systems. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy. Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team. Reliable, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Able to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. Capable of standing and walking for extended periods. Ability to perform tasks involving bending, twisting, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment. Ability to safely move and stage materials and finished products throughout the facility.
