Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Corporate Expediting Manager to oversee the timely procurement, transportation, and delivery of materials across our Houston, TX and Reston, VA locations. This role is vital in ensuring seamless supply chain operations by managing vendor relationships, optimizing logistics processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong data analysis skills, warehouse management expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving to support our dynamic supply chain environment. Responsibilities Coordinate expediting activities to ensure on-time delivery of critical materials and components from suppliers to warehouses or production sites. Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to monitor order status and resolve delays promptly. Utilize tools such as ERP systems, transportation management systems, and SQL databases to analyze supply chain data and identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies. Lead root cause analysis for expediting issues, implementing process improvements to prevent recurrence. Manage vendor relationships through negotiation and category management strategies to optimize pricing and service levels. Oversee shipping & receiving operations, including freight management with 3PL providers and international trade compliance. Support inventory control efforts by ensuring accurate data collection and analysis using Excel spreadsheets and warehouse management systems. Requirements Proven experience practicing in a supply chain operations role with a focus on expediting or logistics management. Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in Excel data analysis, SQL, and supply chain analytics tools. Knowledge of warehouse distribution, inventory management systems, ERP platforms (such as AS400 or similar), and transportation planning software. Familiarity with procurement processes, sourcing strategies, freight forwarding (including NVOCC), trade compliance, and international trade regulations. Hands-on experience with warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, materials handling, forklift operation (certification preferred), and manual handling procedures. Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate between vendors, warehouses, production teams, and customer service departments. Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Strong understanding of supply chain concepts such as demand planning, inventory management systems (MRP), pricing strategies, profit & loss management, and vendor management experience.
