$23.00-$29.00 per hour (Based on Experience) The Opportunity Byers Industrial Services is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to support one of our largest industrial construction projects in Chesterfield, VA. The Logistics Specialist will play a critical role in keeping field operations supplied, organized, and moving efficiently. This position will coordinate the receipt, storage, tracking, and distribution of project materials, tools, equipment, and safety supplies throughout the jobsite. This is a hands-on construction logistics position that combines material coordination, tool and equipment tracking, warehouse and laydown yard operations, delivery coordination, inventory control, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys staying organized, solving problems, coordinating multiple priorities, and making sure crews have what they need to get the job done. Hiring Preference Local candidates are strongly preferred. Candidates should be able to reliably commute to the project in Chesterfield, VA. Relocation assistance and per diem are not anticipated for this position. Candidates with experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or large-scale construction projects are highly preferred. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and understands the importance of keeping materials, tools, equipment, and crews properly coordinated. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, resourceful, and comfortable working between the warehouse, laydown yard, delivery areas, and active construction site . You should be able to communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, foremen, warehouse personnel, vendors, drivers, and field employees. This person will be expected to take ownership of day-to-day logistics and identify potential issues before they impact field productivity. Primary Responsibilities Project Logistics Coordinate the movement of tools, materials, equipment, and supplies throughout the project. Support daily logistics activities for field operations. Coordinate deliveries and help ensure materials arrive where and when they are needed. Communicate with project leadership regarding upcoming material and equipment requirements. Help organize staging areas, storage locations, and laydown yards. Maintain organized and accessible material storage areas. Assist with coordinating the movement of materials between storage areas and active work locations. Identify logistical issues and work with project leadership to resolve them. Material Management Receive and inspect incoming material deliveries. Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and delivery documentation. Assist with unloading, staging, and organizing deliveries. Track materials received, distributed, and remaining on site. Monitor material levels and communicate potential shortages to project leadership. Assist with material ordering and replenishment. Coordinate distribution of materials to field crews. Maintain accurate documentation of material movement and usage. Tool & Equipment Control Manage the daily check-in and check-out of company-owned tools and equipment. Maintain accountability for tools and equipment assigned to employees and crews. Track damaged, missing, or replacement tools. Coordinate tool repairs and replacements when necessary. Maintain accurate tool and equipment records. Help ensure required equipment is available for upcoming work activities. PPE & Safety Supplies Maintain inventory of PPE and safety supplies. Monitor PPE levels and coordinate replenishment. Ensure field employees have access to required safety equipment and supplies. Maintain organized PPE storage areas. Inventory & Administrative Support Maintain accurate inventory and logistics records using Microsoft Excel. Track material, tool, and equipment movements. Conduct routine physical inventories. Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies. Maintain organized delivery receipts, packing slips, purchase orders, and other logistics documentation. Generate inventory and logistics reports for project leadership. Assist project management with tracking materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. Required Experience Previous experience in construction logistics, material coordination, inventory management, warehouse operations, or a similar role . Experience working with tools, materials, equipment, or construction supplies. Experience receiving and organizing material deliveries. Experience maintaining accurate records and documentation. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel . Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license.
