The Manager, Lean Six Sigma leads Memorial Health's Lean Six Sigma program and oversees colleagues who provide performance improvement support across the health system. This leader is responsible for embedding Lean Six Sigma principles into daily operations, aligning improvement initiatives with organizational priorities, and developing people and processes that drive measurable, sustainable results. The Manager partners with executives, physicians, clinical leaders, and operational teams across all Memorial Health affiliates to improve quality, safety, patient experience, and operational performance. Responsibilities Lead and manage Memorial Health's system-wide Lean Six Sigma program. Provide strategic leadership for enterprise performance improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and DMAIC methodologies. Supervise and develop a team of performance improvement professionals while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Partner with executive leadership, physicians, and operational leaders to identify, prioritize, and implement high-impact improvement initiatives. Coach and mentor Green Belts, Black Belts, leaders, and frontline colleagues in Lean Six Sigma principles and change management practices. Lead complex, cross-functional projects focused on quality, patient safety, operational efficiency, financial stewardship, and patient experience. Develop and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate project outcomes and organizational performance. Facilitate improvement workshops, Kaizen events, value stream mapping sessions, and other continuous improvement activities. Support strategic planning by identifying opportunities to improve processes and eliminate waste. Promote standard work, high reliability principles, and evidence-based performance improvement practices throughout the organization. Ensure projects are aligned with Memorial Health's strategic goals and produce measurable, sustainable outcomes. Maintain knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in operational excellence. QualificationsEducation Master's degree in Nursing, Business, Management Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Organizational Behavior, or another related field required. Licensure & Certification American Society for Quality (ASQ) Six Sigma Black Belt certification required. Master Black Belt certification preferred. Experience Minimum of five (5) years of performance improvement or operational excellence experience utilizing Lean and Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodologies. Minimum of two (2) years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience. Demonstrated success implementing Lean Six Sigma initiatives at an organizational or health system level. Experience partnering with physicians and operational leaders in a complex healthcare environment. Experience with healthcare accreditation and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission, CMS, and Malcolm Baldrige Health Care Criteria preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, project management, and continuous improvement. Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to mentor improvement professionals and organizational leaders. Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex organizational challenges. Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills. Strong change management and organizational development capabilities. Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization without direct authority. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and build collaborative partnerships. Strong business acumen with the ability to balance operational, financial, and clinical priorities.
