Job Purpose The Production Operations Manager is a hands-on production floor leadership position responsible for the day-to-day and week-to-week organization, management, and execution of Cream Co.'s meat processing department. This role bridges sales, production, and operations to maintain a dynamic, profitable, and efficient production team focused on repeatable execution and impeccable product quality. This position directly leads and mentors the production team, including direct oversight of Meat Craft Specialists, Product Flow Specialists, Food Safety Stewards, FSQA Techs, and Pack Off Associates to achieve daily production goals while upholding strict food safety, cleanliness, and cost efficiency standards. The Production Operations Manager is responsible for devising and implementing operational efficiencies, optimizing yields, driving continuous system improvements, and keeping the production floor organized, on track, and hitting targets and Key Performance Indicators. This is a full-time, on-site leadership position working in a USDA-inspected refrigerated meat processing environment. QualificationsRequired 5+ years of hands-on leadership or management experience in a USDA-inspected food manufacturing or meat processing environment. Extensive technical experience in retail and wholesale carcass, primal, and subprimal fabrication across beef, pork, lamb, and poultry. In-depth practical knowledge of HACCP programs, SSOPs, GMPs, and USDA processing regulations. Proven track record of team leadership, onboarding, mentorship, and building an accountable production floor culture. Demonstrated experience with production scheduling, yield tracking, labor management, and departmental budgeting. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to summarize operational metrics and present concise reports to executive leadership. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills with high attention to detail. High emotional endurance, adaptability, and a positive leadership approach during high-volume production periods. Ability to work on-site in a cold, wet production environment and perform physical aspects of floor management. Preferred Prior leadership in an artisanal, high-spec, or further-processing meat facility. Experience implementing lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or yield optimization systems. Familiarity with ERP, WMS, or digital production tracking systems. Bilingual capability (English/Spanish preferred). Passion for sustainable agriculture, whole-animal utilization, and transparent food systems.
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
