Position Summary The Director of Internal & External Operations is responsible for leading, developing, and validating the administrative, operational, and financial support functions of Rooftop Solutions. This position oversees both office and field operations, ensuring daily activities are executed efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with company objectives. This leader serves as a key member of the management team by driving operational excellence, developing employees, improving processes, and ensuring exceptional customer service while supporting the organization's continued growth. The Director of Internal & External Operations collaborates closely with Executive Leadership to execute strategic initiatives, improve operational performance, and maintain a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement. Position Requirements The successful candidate must: Be a self-motivated leader with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently without micromanagement. Demonstrate exceptional organizational, leadership, and time-management skills. Possess a thorough understanding of operational workflows, business processes, and organizational policies. Be passionate about building teams, improving processes, and supporting company growth. Lead with integrity, professionalism, accountability, and a solutions-oriented mindset. Maintain confidentiality while exercising sound judgment in decision-making. Be willing to work the hours necessary to meet operational demands. Work Environment Full-time position consisting of a minimum of 40 hours per week. Flexibility to work additional hours as business needs require. Position requires both office and field responsibilities. Ability to effectively balance administrative responsibilities with field leadership. Travel Requirements Ability to travel a minimum of two full weeks per month. Must be available for immediate travel when operational needs arise. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Physical Requirements Ability to safely lift, carry, and use equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. Comfortable climbing ladders and working at elevated heights. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk rooftops safely while conducting inspections and employee evaluations. Ensure technician schedules are properly routed to maximize customer service, technician utilization, and revenue. Verify all work orders are accurately scheduled and assigned. Monitor operational metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Develop, implement, and enforce company policies, procedures, and operational standards. Review existing workflows and recommend improvements that increase efficiency while maintaining employee morale. Present major operational recommendations to Executive Leadership for approval and implementation. Ensure all departments communicate effectively and consistently. Field Operations Management Conduct regular field visits to validate quality of work, safety compliance, customer interaction, and operational consistency. Ensure technicians consistently represent Rooftop Solutions professionally through appearance, conduct, and communication. Inspect company vehicles for cleanliness, organization, maintenance, and inventory. Validate technician inventories and warehouse/storage organization. Ensure preventative maintenance is completed on all fleet vehicles. Audit completed work orders for quality, accuracy, documentation, photographs, and technician notes. Verify compliance with company safety procedures and operating standards. Identify deficiencies and implement corrective action plans with measurable follow-up. People Leadership & Development Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retaining high-performing employees. Support employee coaching, counseling, documentation, disciplinary actions, and terminations when necessary. Develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for employees and conduct quarterly performance reviews. Coordinate employee training programs and validate comprehension and execution. Conduct weekly or bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with office staff and field personnel to discuss: Performance Opportunities Goals Professional development Employee feedback Foster a culture of accountability, communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Serve as the primary liaison between employees and Executive Leadership. Quality Assurance Perform routine audits of technician performance. Review photographs, documentation, customer communication, and completed work. Develop action plans for areas requiring improvement. Recognize and communicate employee successes and accomplishments. Track corrective actions through completion. Inventory & Asset Management Validate weekly and monthly inventories. Audit warehouse organization and field inventory levels. Ensure proper storage and maintenance of company equipment. Monitor inventory accuracy and recommend improvements to inventory control processes. Financial & Administrative Responsibilities Assist Executive Leadership in improving operational profitability. Review operational expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities. Monitor technician productivity and operational efficiency. Ensure company resources are utilized responsibly. Support budgeting and operational planning initiatives. Assist in developing operational reports and performance dashboards. Leadership Expectations The Director of Internal & External Operations is expected to: Lead by example. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. 7+ years of progressive operations leadership experience. Experience managing both office and field service teams. Strong financial and analytical skills. Experience with scheduling software, CRM systems, routing software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Proven success leading organizational growth and process improvement initiatives. Success Measures Success in this role will be measured by: Increased technician productivity and efficiency. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
