This is a key leadership position within TPS Co. and will work directly with the Founder & Creative Director to build the systems, team and operational structure behind our new Cranford flagship. The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the retail business and work in close partnership with our part-time Assistant Store Manager, who will primarily lead sales-floor execution and client experience.

THE ROLE

The Operations Manager is responsible for creating the structure that allows the store and its team to operate consistently, efficiently and at a high level.

How do we fix this today? The ideal candidate is a strong operator and people leader who can identify problems, create solutions and take ownership without requiring constant direction from the Founder.

STORE OPERATIONS

The Operations Manager will oversee the operational health of the store, including: Develop and maintain store procedures, systems and checklists Oversee opening and closing procedures Manage store scheduling and staffing coverage Monitor payroll hours and staffing needs Coordinate operational supplies, maintenance and service providers Maintain organization of back-of-house areas Oversee POS and operational systems Ensure policies and procedures are consistently followed Identify operational inefficiencies and implement solutions Prepare the store operationally for events, launches and seasonal changes Ensure the business is prepared for both everyday operations and high-volume periods

PEOPLE + TEAM MANAGEMENT

The Operations Manager serves as the primary manager of the retail team.

Responsibilities include:

Create employee schedules and ensure appropriate floor coverage Manage attendance, callouts and schedule changes Participate in interviewing and hiring new employees Coordinate employee onboarding Establish training procedures Conduct employee check-ins and performance conversations Provide coaching and corrective feedback when necessary Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable Identify high-performing team members and opportunities for advancement Partner with the Founder on significant personnel decisions Help create a positive, professional and accountable team culture

PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER

The Operations Manager and Assistant Store Manager will work closely together, but their responsibilities are intentionally different. The Operations Manager manages the business. The Assistant Store Manager manages the floor.

The Operations Manager will:

Establish the systems and expectations the Assistant Store Manager helps execute Create staffing plans and schedules Communicate daily and weekly priorities Partner with the Assistant Store Manager on associate training Receive feedback from the Assistant Store Manager about sales-floor performance Coach and develop the Assistant Store Manager Address larger employee or operational concerns escalated from the floor Ensure consistent execution across different shifts and team members

SALES + CLIENT EXPERIENCE

While this role is operationally focused, the Operations Manager must understand that retail operations ultimately exist to support the customer and drive a profitable business.

Responsibilities include:

Monitor store sales performance Understand daily, weekly and monthly sales goals Review key retail performance indicators Work with the Assistant Store Manager to identify sales opportunities Ensure associates receive appropriate product and sales training Monitor execution of TPS Co.'s Luxury Service Standards Help develop clienteling and repeat-customer practices Address larger customer-service issues when escalated Support strategies designed to increase repeat business and customer loyalty

INVENTORY + MERCHANDISE OPERATIONS

The Operations Manager will oversee the systems behind merchandise movement, including: Receiving procedures Inventory accuracy Product tagging and pricing Back-stock organization Damaged merchandise Transfers and returns Online order fulfillment Inventory counts Replenishment procedures Coordination of incoming shipments Communication regarding low-stock and high-performing merchandise The Operations Manager will work with the Founder on buying and assortment decisions while owning the operational process once merchandise enters the business.

VISUAL MERCHANDISING + STORE STANDARDS TPS

Co. is a highly visual, design-led brand. The Founder & Creative Director maintains overall creative authority for the visual identity and merchandising direction of the store. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring those standards are consistently maintained.

This includes:

Creating processes for daily floor recovery Ensuring displays remain clean, full and organized Coordinating merchandising changes with the Founder and Assistant Store Manager Ensuring associates understand visual expectations Maintaining back-of-house organization that supports the sales floor

EVENTS + COMMUNITY TPS

Co. will host events, workshops, launches, private shopping experiences and community collaborations. The Operations Manager will oversee event logistics, including: Staffing Scheduling Operational preparation Supplies Team assignments Setup and breakdown plans Coordination with vendors when necessary Post-event operational review

COMMUNICATION WITH THE FOUNDER A

major measure of success in this role will be the Operations Manager's ability to reduce the number of everyday operational decisions requiring Founder involvement.

The Operations Manager should:

Provide concise updates on store performance and operational needs Escalate issues requiring Founder authority or creative direction Bring context and recommended solutions when escalating problems Make appropriate decisions independently within their authority Protect the Founder's time by resolving routine operational matters without unnecessary escalation

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE A

successful Operations Manager creates a store where: Employees know what is expected of them Schedules and staffing are organized Inventory is accurate Customers receive consistent service The Assistant Store Manager has clear direction and authority Sales Associates are trained and accountable Problems are addressed before they become recurring problems Events are organized The store maintains its visual standards The Founder is not the default solution to everyday operational issues Ultimately, success means the business operates exceptionally whether or not the Founder is physically in the building.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is: An experienced people manager Highly organized Proactive and resourceful Calm under pressure Comfortable making decisions Strong at creating systems and processes Excellent at follow-through Comfortable giving clear feedback Able to delegate effectively Financially and commercially minded Customer-service oriented Collaborative but confident in their authority Comfortable working directly with a creative Founder Excited by the opportunity to help build a growing small business Previous experience in retail management, luxury retail, hospitality, boutique management, operations or another high-touch customer environment is strongly preferred. Experience managing employees, scheduling, inventory and store operations is a must.

SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week hourly position . Because TPS Co. is a retail business, the schedule will include a combination of weekdays and weekends, with occasional evening availability for events. The Operations Manager and Assistant Store Manager schedules will be intentionally coordinated to provide strong leadership coverage throughout the week.

COMPENSATION + BENEFITS

$27-$30/hour based on experience— approximately $56,000 - $60,000 annually based on a 40-hour workweek Two weeks paid vacation plus a companywide week off from Christmas to New Year Monthly health insurance/wellness stipend Paid sick/personal time Paid company holidays Generous employee discount Performance and compensation review Opportunities for increased responsibility and advancement as TPS Co. grows This position is hourly/non-exempt, and overtime will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
