Job Overview Nonprofit Organization Serving Adults with Disabilities Planned Lifetime Assistance Network of New Jersey (PLAN|NJ) offers exemplary care coordination, guided oversight of financial affairs, and compassionate actions to enhance quality of life. We partner with families to provide their loved ones a lifetime of assistance. We are seeking an experienced, organized, and mission-driven Director of Operations to oversee the day-to-day operations of a nonprofit organization providing case management and fiduciary support to adults with disabilities. The Director of Operations will play a central leadership role in ensuring that the organization operates efficiently, responsibly, and in accordance with its mission, policies, and regulatory requirements. This position will coordinate and strengthen internal systems, staff workflows, client services, compliance, technology, administrative processes and community partnerships. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader who can bring structure, accountability, and continuous improvement to an organization with a strong foundation while maintaining a strong commitment to serving individuals with disabilities. Key Responsibilities Oversee the organization's daily operations and ensure that administrative and service functions work effectively together Develop, implement, and continuously improve organizational policies, procedures, and internal systems to maintain efficient workflows and accountability Identify operational challenges and develop practical solutions Ensure appropriate systems and resources are in place to support continued growth Expand partnerships and pursue opportunities to strategically benefit the organization and its mission Staff Leadership & Management Provide leadership, direction, and support to staff across the organization Establish clear roles, responsibilities, performance expectations, and workflows Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, supervision, and performance evaluation Foster a professional, collaborative, and supportive workplace culture through appropriate communication and coordination among staff members and departments Compliance, Risk Management & Quality Control Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contracts, policies, and organizational standards Maintain appropriate systems for documentation, recordkeeping, confidentiality, and quality control Identify operational risks and collaborate with leadership to establish safeguards Coordinate preparation for audits, reviews, inspections, and other compliance activities as appropriate Technology & Administrative Systems Oversee the effective use of technology and software systems supporting organizational operations and coordinate training, as needed Evaluate opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and automation Work with outside technology vendors and service providers when necessary Development & Organizational Growth Strengthen services, expand community partnerships, and identify new opportunities that support long-term sustainability Build relationships, recognize emerging opportunities, develop creative solutions, and apply practical strategies to advance the organization's mission Manage Customer Relationship database (DonorPerfect) proficiently and coordinate fundraising and organizational events Financial & Administrative Oversight Work with the Executive Director, Accounting Manager, and Board to support sound financial administration Monitor operating budgets and expenses and help ensure adherence to approved financial policies Review financial reports and identify operational issues or trends requiring attention Help maintain appropriate internal controls and financial procedures Coordinate administrative responsibilities related to vendors, insurance, contracts, facilities, and other organizational needs Qualifications Bachelor's degree; equivalent relevant professional experience will be considered[MM1] Demonstrated experience in nonprofit, human services, healthcare, disability services, case management, fiduciary services or a related field Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project-management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with executive leadership, staff, clients, families, and professional partners High degree of integrity, discretion, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality Ability to plan, organize, and execute projects using an effective team leadership approach Preferred Experience Knowledge of case management or fiduciary/payee services for adults with intellectual, developmental, or other disabilities Experience in a small or mid-sized nonprofit organization where the ability to be both strategic and hands-on is important Familiarity with nonprofit compliance and regulatory requirements Experience with grant writing What We Offer This is an opportunity to take a meaningful leadership role in an organization whose work directly supports adults with disabilities and helps promote their stability, independence, and quality of life. Pay:
$80,000.00 - $89,000.00 per year
