Full-Time About Sierra Truck Body Sierra Truck Body is looking for a motivated, hands-on Operations Manager to join our team and take ownership of day-to-day production operations. This is a key leadership position responsible for keeping our production team organized, productive, and on schedule while ensuring customer builds are completed accurately and on time. The right person will be a problem solver, leader, and doer . We are looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates well, and can make decisions without needing to involve the General Manager in every issue. This is a position for someone who sees a deadline and says, "We'll get it done," and then figures out how to make it happen. Position Overview The Operations Manager will be the primary person overseeing our production team and will be responsible for keeping truck body builds and other projects moving according to schedule. When the General Manager is out of the office, the Operations Manager will be the primary point of contact for production, employees, customers, and day-to-day operational issues. This person will work closely with the production and sales teams to ensure jobs are properly scheduled, materials and resources are available, problems are addressed quickly, and builds stay on track from start to finish. Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Operations Oversee the day-to-day activities of the production team. Keep truck body builds and projects on schedule and ensure deadlines are met. Monitor job progress and identify potential delays before they become major problems. Coordinate priorities and resources to keep production moving efficiently. Make sure employees understand expectations, deadlines, and priorities. Hold the production team accountable for quality, productivity, and timelines. Help coordinate materials, parts, equipment, and other resources needed for production. Ensure completed work meets Sierra Truck Body's quality standards. Step in and help solve production issues when necessary. Leadership & Problem Solving Take ownership of problems and find practical solutions. Make decisions independently and use good judgment without requiring constant direction. Address employee and production issues quickly and professionally. Keep the General Manager informed of important issues while handling routine problems independently. Lead by example with a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude . Find ways to get the job done rather than focusing on why something can't be done. When given a deadline, develop a plan and make every reasonable effort to meet it. Maintain a calm, solutions-focused approach when unexpected problems arise. Sales Support Assist the sales team with production timelines, feasibility, and job scheduling. Communicate realistic build timelines and help ensure sales commitments can be met. Help identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and increase sales. Work with sales to make sure customer expectations are communicated clearly to production. Help resolve customer or job-related issues when needed. General Manager Support Serve as the primary operational leader when the General Manager is out of the office. Keep day-to-day operations running smoothly without unnecessary escalation. Handle routine decisions, employee concerns, production issues, and customer-related matters independently. Communicate significant issues to the General Manager while demonstrating that you have already considered possible solutions. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has a strong can-do attitude and takes pride in getting things done. Is a natural leader who can earn the respect of a production team. Is highly organized and able to manage multiple jobs and priorities at once. Can work under pressure and still make good decisions. Is a problem solver , not someone who simply points out problems. Takes ownership and accountability for results. Is comfortable making decisions without needing constant approval. Understands the importance of deadlines and follows through on commitments. Communicates clearly and directly with employees, management, and customers. Is willing to jump in and help wherever needed. Is dependable, proactive, and willing to do what it takes to keep the operation moving. Can balance speed, quality, and customer expectations. The Right Mindset We are not looking for someone who tells us why something can't happen. We are looking for someone who says: "Here's the problem. Here's how I think we can solve it. Let's get it done." If a build is falling behind, we want someone who immediately starts looking for solutions, adjusting priorities, coordinating resources, and figuring out how to get the job back on track. Qualifications Previous experience in operations, production management, shop management, automotive/truck equipment, manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment.
