Job Description

Director of Operations & Growth Tacoma, WA Full Time Preferred-Contract Work Considered Salary:
$65,000 to $75,000 DOE Benefits stipend provided Bonus opportunity after 90 days Real Estate, Operations & Entrepreneurial Business I am looking for the person who can become my second brain. I am the visionary. I am looking for the implementer. I run a high producing real estate business and am building several complementary businesses and revenue streams under a larger real estate umbrella. These include network growth, community and agent events, education and digital products, coworking and gathering spaces, marketing initiatives, strategic partnerships and other opportunities connected to real estate, relationships and community. The opportunities are growing, and I have reached the point where I do not need another person waiting for a list of tasks. I want to be able to cast the vision and have someone turn that vision into an executable plan. I need someone with strong critical thinking, excellent judgment and the ability to execute the details. Someone who sees what needs to happen, determines how to make it happen and keeps things moving until it is complete. The Role This is a high ownership operations and growth role for someone who loves bringing structure to a fast moving entrepreneurial business. You will work closely with me to turn ideas, conversations and priorities into organized execution. Some days that may mean coordinating the launch of a new real estate listing. Another day it could mean building the workflow for a client or agent event, helping launch an online product, improving a lead follow up system, supporting network growth initiatives, researching a new business opportunity, coordinating vendors or creating the operational structure for one of our growing business lines. As these businesses grow, part of your role will be helping me determine how they fit together, where efficiencies can be created and what people, systems and resources are needed to support them. You will not be expected to personally do everything. You will be expected to make sure everything gets done. What You Will Own You will help oversee operations across the real estate business and our related business initiatives, including: Managing projects, priorities and deadlines across multiple business lines Turning ideas and conversations into clear plans, timelines and next steps Coordinating listing preparation, photography, staging, vendors and marketing timelines Creating systems and workflows so fewer things live inside my head Managing and delegating work to team members, contractors and outside vendors Identifying operational problems and proposing solutions before they become bigger problems Improving CRM organization, lead routing and follow up processes Helping organize client events, community events and agent focused initiatives Supporting network growth, agent relationships, recruiting initiatives and referral opportunities Coordinating email marketing, funnels, automations and lead generation projects Helping develop the infrastructure behind online education, digital products and other revenue streams Supporting the development and operations of coworking, community and gathering initiatives Researching new tools, opportunities, vendors and solutions Keeping projects moving without requiring constant follow up Helping evaluate new ideas and determining what should happen now, later or not at all Creating repeatable systems that allow the businesses to scale There are already team members handling buyer representation, transaction coordination and administrative responsibilities. Your job is not to replace them. Your job is to help all of the pieces work together. Over time, I expect this person to help oversee additional employees, contractors and vendors as our businesses grow. Who You Are You are probably the person people describe as the one who "figures things out." You are highly organized, but more importantly, you have excellent judgment. You notice loose ends. You anticipate problems. You ask good questions. You are comfortable making decisions. You do not need someone to give you step by step instructions before you can move forward. When you are handed a messy project, your natural response is to organize it, determine what needs to happen next and start solving. You are also comfortable working alongside an entrepreneur who moves quickly, generates a lot of ideas and occasionally needs someone who is willing to say: "This is important." "This can wait." "You are creating more work than value here." or "You do not need to be involved in this. I've got it." I am not looking for someone who simply agrees with everything I suggest. I want someone who thinks alongside me. You May Be a Great Fit If You Have Experience In Business operations Project management Real estate team operations Executive level support Marketing operations Small business management Business development Entrepreneurial or founder led companies Real estate experience is helpful, but it is not required. I care more about intelligence, initiative, ownership, resourcefulness and problem solving than whether you already know every real estate system we use. You Should Be Comfortable With Technology You do not have to be a programmer, but you should be comfortable learning and using technology such as: CRM systems Google Workspace Project management platforms Email marketing platforms Social media platforms AI tools Automation platforms Digital forms and workflows Online course and community platforms More importantly, you should be someone who hears, "There has to be a better way to do this," and genuinely enjoys figuring out what that better way is. This Role Is Probably Not For You If You prefer having every task clearly assigned before taking action. You need frequent direction about what to do next. You enjoy completing tasks but do not enjoy solving problems. You are uncomfortable making decisions independently. You struggle to prioritize when several things are happening at once. You want a predictable role where every day looks the same. This business moves quickly. The right person will find that energizing rather than overwhelming. What Success Looks Like Within the first several months, I should increasingly be able to spend my time in the areas where I create the most value: Client relationships Business development Network growth Content and visibility Strategic partnerships Agent relationships Community building Speaking and education Creating new opportunities and revenue streams Meanwhile, you become the person ensuring the businesses behind those activities operate smoothly. As we grow, I want you increasingly thinking beyond individual tasks and asking bigger operational questions: How can we make this more efficient? Should this be systematized? Who should own this? What can be delegated? What should we stop doing? What needs to exist for this business line to scale? Ultimately, I want to be able to set the direction while trusting you to build and oversee the infrastructure that helps us get there. About Me I am a Managing Broker and high producing REALTOR serving the South Sound area. I have sold more than 400 homes and over $200 million in real estate throughout my career. I previously built and owned an independent real estate brokerage with more than 180 agents. Now I am looking to build beyond my personal real estate production. My larger vision includes real estate sales alongside complementary businesses involving network growth, education, events, community, agent relationships, marketing, partnerships and physical spaces. I have built my business largely through relationships, community, reputation, marketing and creative lead generation rather than traditional cold prospecting. I am entrepreneurial, relationship driven and constantly looking for opportunities to grow and improve. I also move quickly and generate a lot of ideas. I am looking for someone whose strengths complement mine and who gets satisfaction from turning possibility into execution.
