Job Description
We are a dedicated community services organization committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness. Operating across three counties, we provide a compassionate bridge from life on the streets to the stability of a permanent home. Our mission is to meet individuals exactly where they are, offering a path forward through intensive support, resource navigation, and unwavering advocacy. The Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of a hotel operating under a harm reduction framework, serving clients who may be experiencing homelessness, substance use, or other complex challenges. This role ensures that services are delivered in a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental environment while maintaining efficient hotel operations. The ideal candidate balances strong operational leadership with compassion, trauma-informed practices, and a commitment to dignity-centered care. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Manage day-to-day hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, safety and security Ensure smooth coordination between all services and supportive service teams Develop and implement operational policies aligned with harm reduction principles Monitor occupancy, room turnover, and facility usage Oversee and manage the bed map and bed board within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to track occupancy, assign rooms, and facilitate efficient room changes Room Inspections & Quality Assurance Oversee and enforce routine room inspections conducted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Supervise housekeeping staff in completing standardized room checks using the Client Room Check Checklist Ensure inspections are conducted respectfully and in alignment with harm reduction and trauma-informed practices Review inspection results and address cleanliness, safety concerns, and maintenance needs promptly Coordinate follow-up actions for failed inspections, including guest engagement, additional cleaning support, or maintenance requests Track inspection outcomes and ensure documentation is completed and maintained Harm Reduction & Client Support Uphold a harm reduction approach that prioritizes safety, autonomy, and dignity Support staff in responding to substance use, mental health crises, and conflict using de-escalation techniques by getting the right department involved. Collaborate with Care coordinator leads, ECM supervisor, Crisis Management Team as needed. Promote a low-barrier, inclusive environment for all clients Staff Management & Development Supervise, train, and support multidisciplinary staff (Housekeepers, Cooks, Security) Provide ongoing coaching in trauma-informed care, cultural competencies, and crisis response within your assigned teams Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage 24/7 Foster a supportive, mission-driven team culture Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and organizational policies Create and implement a operations manual and update as needed Oversee incident reporting, documentation, and risk mitigation strategies that involve your teams. Coordinate emergency response protocols (overdose response, medical emergencies, etc.) when necessary. Maintain relationships with local emergency services and community partners Facilities & Vendor Management Oversee maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness of the property Manage vendor contracts and service providers Monitor inventory and procurement of supplies (including harm reduction supplies where applicable) Data & Reporting Track operational metrics, client trends, and incident data Prepare regular reports for leadership as requested Maintain accurate, real-time data in the EHR system, including bed assignments, client movements, and room status updates Use data to improve service delivery and operational efficiency Core Competencies Compassionate leadership Crisis management & de-escalation Operational efficiency Data accuracy and systems management (including EHR bed tracking) Quality assurance and inspection oversight Cultural humility and inclusivity Working Conditions 24/7 operation; may require evenings, weekends, or on-call availability High-interaction environment with potential exposure to crisis situations Fast-paced, mission-driven setting Teams that you will be responsible fo r Housekeepers Cooks Security Maintenance team Maintenance on the company vehicles completed as needed •This is an in person position, remote/virtual work are not an option•
